This 17” x 11”poster was designed for pediatric health care settings and identifies for parents how domestic violence may impact the health of their baby. The poster is accompanied by a photograph of a baby and the caption reads: “When you bring your new baby home, you will have lots of new experiences together… being hurt or threatened by someone you love should not be one of them. For many women, abuse in a relationship starts or gets worse after the baby is born. The abuse is not your fault. If someone you know needs help:”.
The poster identifies the health effects of domestic violence on children and encourages parents to talk to their health care provider for more information. Additionally, the poster encourages people to call 911 if they are in immediate danger and want police to respond; or the National Hotline on Domestic Violence to talk with an advocate for help (including TDD number).
